Review of Iranian poet Bahareh Rezaei’s poem ‘I am not immune’

Review of Iranian poet Bahareh Rezaei’s poem ‘I am not immune’ I request readers to read the poem first from the link https://www.poetrytranslation.org/poems/i-am-not-immune The celebration of ‘words’ as well as the ambience of a library are very catchy in this poem: I listen – The words are sputtering. Scattered viruses circulate in the library Whenever we enter a library, we feel an instant connect with an intellectual current. We enter into a world of knowledge, science, history, culture, creativity, information and imagination. Only our intellect connects with these. Reading alone at home and reading in a library vary in the identity. In the library we identify ourselves with the sensible and sane elements of the society who strongly believe that expression, discussion and dialogue and understanding issues clearly are possible only with written words. Words have the power and written words carry the conviction of the person expressing her views. There are many articles and rarely some poems on the value of reading books. This poem stands out in celebrating the ambience of a library. This poem makes us understand that book lovers and lovers of literature are one transcending the geographical boundaries. Well done.
