Review of Khadijha Queen’s poem ‘Undoing’

 Khadijha Queen’s poem ‘Undoing’

I request readers to read the poem from the above link first and then only my review. Thanks.

The four words in the ending line ‘I cannot drive through’ symbolize literal traffic congestions during fall, as well as the poet’s anguish at the indifference of modern world to the threat of global warming. She voices for the undoing of this complacence. Many cyclones, cloudbursts and famines and spurt in snow fall are warnings and we have to reverse our mindset. Can the damage already suffered by ozone be undone? This poem and many other environmentalists’ calls are reminders. We need to wake up. This poem in simple figurative expression puts forth an important environmental issue. Poetry on macro issues i.e. problems still faced by humanity are less in number. These reminders make the readers ponder on what they get at the cost of which one.
