Review of Patricia Amundsen's poem 'How are you?'
Our expressions in social life are often feigned reflecting the vacuum and superficial fiber of most of the social and personal relationships. The poem certainly drives home this. Still without the last two lines the poem would have been sharper. The reader has a role in taking the poem forward. If a poem subtly leaves something unsaid then a reader can interpret in ways more creative than the poet herself.
